we unfortunately live behind this place and its definitely been a nuisance for sure. The place is more of a clubhouse/party spot than anything else. They host live bands at all hours of the day and night. One time they started a band playing at full volume (PA system etc) at 1am! At last years bury your bike party they had bands playing all day. We actually had to leave the house it was so loud. During the daytime when they are hanging out they play their music very loud, so loud it can be heard on Laura St and inside with all the windows closed (which really sucks when you can't sit on your porch and enjoy the great weather without being bombarded with whatever music they decide to play that day). All the neighbors that live around this place are pretty fed up and even after contacting the property owner they still blast their music (happened just yesterday). So while it may seem like a "cool" place to have in SPR, its only "cool" if you aren't the one living near it.

Really, sorry about the noise. We try to only have two or three big events a year, and a show once a month or every other month. We have realized that the sound travels pretty easily due to the open lot, so we have been keeping the bands inside. Were going to try to do a better job of sound proofing for the future. Also, I will speak to all of our volunteers about keeping the music down during the day. We really don't wish to be a nuisance, but we are also trying to provide access to our space for local musicians, artist, and anyone needing a place to work on their projects. We will try our best not to distress anyone during these events. If the noise does start exceed acceptable limits, please feel free to come down, and we would be happy to get it to an acceptable level, or if you want to come down and try to work with us on a way to avoid future incidents, we are always grateful for ideas and help. Again, sorry for any inconvenience.

ZombieJoe - why don't you PM LaurastSPR with your cell number? That way they can call you when they have an issue and you can address it.

I have always liked that you guys picked Springfield as the place to do something so progressive in Jville. Glad you are here - love your mission, keep up the good work - we need more grassroots organizations like this to propel the neighborhood forward.

I appreciate that Zombie Bikes understands that there are families, some with small children, who live around their business who have jobs and go to work and who value sleep. Its also good to hear that Zombie Bikes is going to take some measures to curb the loud music. Thats really all we ask. We have no problem with what goes on over there, whether that be bike polo, parties etc. But when what you all are doing (loud music) starts to interfere with what we are doing (relaxing at home or sleeping) then there will be a problem. Having a contact number is a very good idea, I've looked and couldn't find one for this business. Without one all that happens is the property owner gets a call as there is no other option and while going over sounds reasonable, its really not, particularly when there is a large crowd, the gate is locked or its late at night and being awoken one is not a happy camper.

Feel free to PM me on this issue so we don't have to discuss it on a public forum, I'm sure we can come to some resolution.
