Sue Carmichael, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal (9th and Laura), is an extraordinary wood carver. She carved this huge cross in memory of her mother.

It hangs at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.

And the ceremony was last night.

Sue's mother has been sick for quite a while. Sue spent 100 hours working on the cross. Yesterday was the day of the blessing ceremony at the Church of the Redeemer, yesterday afternoon Sue's mother died.

Sue's next carving will be a cross for a prison ministry. She will be using Team Recovery to incorporate metal work into her cross. We are excited to be included in such a project.
