Hopefully so. Soon after the first of the year. We're currently looking at two possible meeting locations.

God bless Pastor Kaye and all our friends at Wisconsin's Sacred Journey Spiritual Community. This is the kind of Koinonia church we hope to see sometime soon here in the Springfield area of Jacksonville!

I would love to meet and hear more about this new church - sounds like a great partnership opportunity for The Well at Springfield (we meet at City Kidz and seem very like-minded). My email is suerogers17@gmail.com. We can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/TheWellatSpringfield.

Hi, Sue.

Thanks for the response.

I have visited your Facebook page on "The Well" and replied directly to you via email, as you suggested.

Koinonia Springfield Community Church envisions a congregation:

• which strives to emulate the radical hospitality and love of Jesus. We will support the full inclusion and participation of all persons in the life and ministry of the church regardless of age, race, gender identity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, family formation or ethnicity;

• that thinks “outside of the box,” is willing to learn from other faith traditions, is open to different styles of worship, and looks toward new possibilities and potentials for ministry;

• where everyone is encouraged to ask questions and discuss the messages shared as, together, we struggle with the challenges of faith and observance;

• working both collectively and individually for the greater good by being active in service, mission, empathy, and social justice;

• that dedicates as much of its resources to support others as it does to maintain the church;

• that truly believes that God is love, that grace is freely given not earned, and that every person is wonderfully created in the image of the Creator;

• where all can find support in becoming the individuals God has created them to be.

Given these givens, do you still feel we can work together to glorify God and engender a spirit of cooperation, community, and communion here in Springfield?

I've created a Facebook group with "docs" outlining:
--The vision of Koinonea Community Church of Springfield;
--The mission of the church;
--What we believe;
--A "typical" worship service;
--Finances and Stewardship

Forgive me for borrowing some of your excellent parallel prose! ;)

Let's make plans to get together at Three Layers or Uptown Market sometime soon!

E-mail me? Directly, please (although I'd love to read some feedback from others in this forum!).

Shalom,

Postby jaxpaxpastor » Wed Dec 21, 2011 7:39 pm

Early in 2012, a new church reflective of the Springfield spirit will begin meeting here.

For more information -- our vision, mission, beliefs, typical worship service, finances and stewardship, etc. -- please check out the "docs" posted on the Facebook page we created for Koinonea Community Church of Springfield:

Shalom, Namaste, and the peace of the Lord!
