Easement Path

Postby contog » Thu Jul 29, 2010 5:49 pm

Hello:

I'm interested in any of your past experiences -- and recommendations -- concerning creating a brick / decorative slab easement path between my fenced yard area and the curb.

Do I need a permit? Are the companies or individuals around the neighborhood who offer any services?

Thanks!

I believe this would be considered "hard landscaping" and requires a COA. No idea is it will get approved or not. I asked the city once about landscaping when we did our yard and was told that soft landscaping (plants) do not require a COA while hard landscaping (walk ways and such) do require a COA.

Covering soil with hardscape is a great way of limiting your ash or lead exposure.

Just tell them you are doing this as part of your remediation plan.

What type of work does 'Juan's' do, and does anyone have contact information? We're looking at some retaining wall and paver or concrete work and would love to give someone people in the neighborhood had a good experience with a shot at the work...

Thanks!

Juan and crew can do just about anything. They installed our cat doors, opened up the space for the TV above the fireplace, painted our 2-story entryway, solved the "water in the dryer vent problem" for us, etc.

Juan is awesome. He used to the finisher handyman for SRG. He has done so much work in our house I can't even start to tell you. My favorite thing is he hung my pot rack in the kitchen afte the builder had reinforced the beams above the ceiling. And has painted all of our trim work on the exterior of the house, in one day, perfectly. And I love supporting Juan, he has some cute kids. :)
