Now that we have top soil and manure, what are recommendations for fertilizer ? How soon, how often ?
What if you want to go organic ?

With good soil, you shouldn't need any fertilizer. If you absolutely feel you want to fertilize, Alex, then I suggest using an organic one, like fish emulsion or seaweed. You may want to test the soil and see if it needs anything, if it does, check out Johnny's organic http://www.johnnyseeds.com/c-216-fertilizer-and-plant-foods.aspx

Also, on the 27th we are teaching an Organic Pest Control class at the garden at 1pm. If you want to come, let me know avsearle@gmail.com

Hey Everyone! We are in the final stages of completing the Community Garden. We need to raise another $2000 to really complete the foundation stuff. We need to finish another 5 beds, plumbing for those beds, the patio and the back fence. If you have any pavers for the patio or old bricks that you would be willing to donate, or some lumber for beds, or fencing materials, they would be greatly appreciated! We are trying to make the garden a last stop on the Home Tour (possible beer garden…) so we are really trying to get it completed in the next few weeks.

Also, if you think your company would be interested in donating, or if you personally are interested, please let me know. We can always buy supplies with donation money. It is a tax write off. Thank you to everyone who has been so generous with this project so far!

Thanks to Michael and Lauren for letting me borrow the tiller! The pumpkin patch is prepped along with the easement for flowers. :D

Finally got hold of one of the little critters which is eating my potato leaves. It is about 1mm in size. Any ideas what to do about it ?
Any advice is greatly welcome.

I'm not sure what it is, but I've sprayed my veggies with dish detergent...use a sprayer and just cover the whole plant.
